Meet Dr. Patrick Nguyen
Dr. Nguyen graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1992 with his degree in dental medicine, along with his bachelor’s degree in science (microbiology). After working as an associate dentist in Vancouver for a year, he proceeded with construction of his own practice in Newton, Surrey.
What Dr. Nguyen enjoys most about his work is the variety it offers — in both the diversity of his patients and the range of services he performs for them on a daily basis. As such, he loves practicing general dentistry, but has a particular passion for cosmetic smile design and reconstruction.
Because the field of dentistry is constantly changing, Dr. Nguyen endeavors to keep up to date on the many advances in the field by attending continuing education courses, professional conferences, trade shows, and seminars. Past and present examples include memberships to the Vancouver and District Dental Society, the Fraser Valley Dental Society, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Pankey Institute, the Dawson Academy, and the Seattle Institute of Advanced Dental Education.
Born in Vietnam, Dr. Nguyen moved to the Lower Mainland when he was very young. He and his family have since enjoyed the wonderful climate and natural beauty of this coastal region, which he loves to explore and revisit regularly.
When not working on smiles, Dr. Nguyen very much enjoys playing competitive indoor and outdoor volleyball throughout the year — a sport in which he has been involved for more than 20 years. He has also volunteered his time to a high school mentorship program where he has worked one-on-one with students who are pursuing careers in the health sciences.
