What to expect during a routine visit?

When you come in for a routine visit, you can expect a thorough exam in which we will check your teeth for cavities or other signs of decay, tartar and plaque build up. During the exam, we will also evaluate the health of your gums and check for gingivitis and signs of periodontal disease, and check your throat, tongue, head and neck for any irregularities that may be a sign of oral cancer, diabetes or other serious conditions. We offer teeth cleaning as well when you come in for a routine visit.

For teeth cleaning, we will use a scaler to remove plaque and tartar from between your teeth and around your gum line. We will then use a high-powered electric toothbrush to brush and polish your teeth. After we have polished your teeth, we will floss them.

Before you leave our clinic, we will give you an update on your oral health and provide recommendations for at-home dental care. You will also have the opportunity to speak with the dentist about any concerns you may have regarding your oral health. The entire process will take about 45 minutes.
